PRINCE INK ENTERTAINMENT
Since 2015, Prince Ink Entertainment (PIE) has been committed to producing quality forms of entertainment—from the pages to the stages, and everything in between. Founded by Prince E. Mayes-Sullivan, PIE serves as a pillar in the community as it relates to arts and entertainment, offering a platform for some of Detroit’s finest talent across various industries. Whether it’s stage plays or books, movies or tv series, the mission and mandate of PIE is to leave a mark on the entertainment world that cannot be erased.
Even though he operates from a motorized wheelchair and has a slight speech impediment, in his 20+ years of life, Prince’s creative writing and acting skills produce a tall order for industry competitors to live up to. As an established writer, producer and director, Prince has accomplished more in his short career span than some accomplish in a lifetime—proving to the world that being disabled doesn’t disqualify one from living a fulfilled life.
Launching into the deep in 2015, PIE had the esteemed honor to co-produce the hit stage play, Stay In Your Place, authored by Tonja Ayers. By 2016, PIE presented its debut solo project, Makin’ Changes to a sold-out audience. On the heels of that successful production came the debut book, Love Unexpected, authored by Prince and published under Pie Publishing , as well of his sophomore stage production, My Best Friend’s Man—all in 2017. Keeping up with the creative momentum and flow, Pie Publishing has released books for a small slate of artist. Kimberly Kiss’s Against The grain and Asia Monay’s The Death and Rebirth of Little Angels.
With Asia Monay as VP, the and Prince E. Mayes-Sullivan at helm as C.E.O. and President, this family-run business remains focused on bringing smiles to faces of people worldwide under various DBAs and brands. Featured on HOT 102.7 and WCHB 1200, PIE produces highly anticipated work that always leaves the audience wanting more. No matter the method, platform or venue, audience members will leave a PIE production knowing that while life happens to us—it happens through us—and we can laugh and be refreshed along the journey.
In 2021 Prince moved to Atlanta and created the sister company to Prince Ink Entertainment, PIE Media Co., a media company focus on creating and producing content for tv, streaming and film.
True enough, many can’t have their cake and eat it, too. But one can always expect a slice of joy out of the PIE many know as Prince Ink Entertainment.
